Moroccan authorities have foiled a major drug smuggling attempt at the Port of Casablanca. In a joint operation, the National Security services and Customs officials successfully intercepted a large shipment of hashish weighing three tons and 619 kilograms.
This substantial quantity of drugs was concealed inside an international shipping container destined for a European port. The narcotics were discovered and the smuggling operation was thwarted before the shipment could leave the Port of Casablanca.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Moroccan authorities to combat drug trafficking and organized crime. It reflects the close cooperation between various security agencies, particularly the National Security services and Customs, in securing border crossings and fighting illicit drug trafficking.
It’s worth noting that Morocco adopts a comprehensive national strategy to combat drug smuggling of all types. This strategy has been successful in foiling numerous smuggling attempts across various land and sea border points of the kingdom.
