Breaking News: Security services at the Judicial Police Department in the city of Oujda, in coordination with the General Directorate of National Territory Surveillance, successfully arrested five individuals aged between 26 and 68 years old, four of whom belong to the same family. This operation targeted a criminal network involved in international gold smuggling.
Search operations conducted across three properties within the city resulted in the seizure of 87 gold pieces weighing 33 kilograms and 130 grams, along with small gold ingots. Significant amounts of money in national and European currencies were also found, suspected to be proceeds from the criminal activities of this network.
Investigations further revealed the seizure of vehicles, motorcycles, white weapons, and an electronic scale believed to have been used during criminal activities. The arrested individuals have been placed under judicial custody under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution to investigate the details and criminal extensions of the case.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts of Moroccan security services to combat international smuggling networks and protect national economic interests.
