The Judicial Police Provincial Service in Rabat initiated a judicial investigation on Saturday, November 23, into a security guard suspected of misusing official equipment and abuse of power.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had misappropriated a wireless communication device from the command and coordination room of a security district in the capital. The device was allegedly used illegally in an attempt to intervene on behalf of an individual who was under security monitoring procedures in a public street.
Following this incident, the officer in question was placed in custody under preventive detention, while the investigation continues under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case.
In a related development, the General Directorate of National Security issued a decision to temporarily suspend the suspected officer from duty, pending the completion of judicial investigation procedures, to determine appropriate administrative and disciplinary measures.
It is worth noting that this case comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts by the General Directorate of National Security to maintain ethical standards in public service and enhance principles of good security governance.
