Club Omnisports de Meknès (CODM) achieved a positive result by securing a valuable goalless draw against their hosts Raja Casablanca in the match that brought them together this evening at the Arab Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, as part of the ninth round of the Moroccan Professional Football League.
The match witnessed a strong performance from both teams, with Raja imposing their field dominance from the start in an attempt to score early, but they were met with solid defense from “CODM” who succeeded in thwarting all attacking attempts by the hosts.
Goalkeeper Ziniti was undisputedly the star of the match, showing remarkable brilliance and saving his goal from a certain score by stopping a penalty kick in stoppage time of the first half.
In the second half, the “Green Eagles” continued their attempts to score against the representatives of the Ismaili capital, but all their attempts failed in the face of the visiting team’s tight defensive organization, and the match ended in a goalless draw.
With this result, Raja raised their points tally to 12 points, occupying eighth place in the standings, while CODM increased their tally to 10 points in fourteenth place.
This result is considered positive for the visiting team who managed to return with a valuable point from the stronghold of one of Morocco’s most prestigious clubs, while it is considered a disappointing result for Raja who missed an opportunity to climb up the standings and get closer to the leading teams.
