Four memoranda of understanding were signed on Thursday in Marrakech between the Moroccan state and aviation companies on the sidelines of the 7th Marrakech Air Show 2024. These agreements aim to develop industrial investment projects to enhance Boeing’s supply chain through Moroccan aviation sector players.
The agreements include:
- An agreement with Structural Aerospace Morocco (SAM), a subsidiary of “Avia Group Industries,” to expand its current production site in the Nouaceur aviation industrial zone. The investment amounts to 75 million dirhams in the first phase, creating 200 jobs.
- An agreement with German group MASTERFLEX SE to establish a production unit in Casablanca specialized in manufacturing flexible ducts for the aviation sector, with an investment of 2.5 million euros and creating 70 jobs.
- An agreement with TRELLEBORG, a global leader in technical polymer solutions, to establish an industrial unit in Midparc specialized in manufacturing sealing systems for the aviation sector, with an investment of 11 million euros and creating 150 jobs.
- An agreement with Composite Industrie Maroc (CIM) to expand its current site by establishing a unit specialized in manufacturing thermo-acoustic insulation mats and sealing systems, with an investment of 216 million dirhams and creating 648 jobs.
Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, stated that these investments will create more than 1,000 new jobs in advanced technical fields through investors from four different countries: the United States, Sweden, Canada, and France.
The Minister added that these projects strengthen the confidence of global aviation system players in the Moroccan sector and support the continued momentum of this vital sector under the new era that this industry is experiencing in the Kingdom under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI.
