The National Labor Union of Morocco has announced a central protest scheduled for Sunday, October 27, 2024, in front of the Parliament in the capital, Rabat.
This protest is being organized in response to the government’s social and economic policies.
The union’s decision comes amid rising inflation and the increasing cost of essential goods, including fuel, oil, and meat, along with the deteriorating purchasing power of citizens and worsening social conditions.
In its statement, the union criticized the government’s failure to implement effective measures to combat poverty and rising prices.
It accused the government of neglecting the social and economic challenges that are weakening citizens’ purchasing power.
The protest is part of an escalating plan of action that the union has announced to express its rejection of the ongoing economic difficulties facing large segments of Moroccan society.
The protest will begin at 11 a.m., and the union has called on all its members, as well as various social groups, to participate en masse to voice their opposition to government policies and to defend their right to a decent standard of living.
