A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State emphasized the vital role played by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in enhancing peace and security in the Middle East, in a statement issued following discussions on Tuesday in Washington between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The spokesperson highlighted Morocco’s leadership in addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza, supporting stability in the West Bank, and contributing to the revival of the Palestinian Authority’s role.
Blinken also praised Morocco’s efforts to break the political deadlock in Libya and tackle security challenges in the Sahel region.
