Marrakech: National Security Arrests Over 400 Individuals to Enhance Public Safety

The Marrakech Security Directorate continues its vigorous efforts to combat crime and enhance the sense of security in public spaces, successfully arresting over 400 individuals in recent days.As part of the integrated action plan being implemented, various security districts in Marrakech arrested 425 individuals caught in the act or wanted for various criminal offenses, including those related to public morality, during the nights of September 2 and 3. Among those arrested, 122 individuals were subjects of national search warrants.

Efforts in Traffic Violation Enforcement

The security operations also led to the seizure and impounding of 46 vehicles due to their drivers threatening the safety of road users through reckless and exhibitionist driving.In terms of traffic violations, traffic police units recorded 1,091 offenses, including 570 related to riding motorcycles without wearing helmets. Additionally, judicial investigations were initiated under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor against eight individuals suspected of engaging in illegal transportation and carrying passengers without a license.

Collaborative and Coordinated Security Efforts

These security operations involve various teams from the Marrakech Security Directorate, including judicial police, police stations, urban security, and traffic police, along with support units from the central national security services.It is noteworthy that the overall results of the security operations during the first ten days of this plan led to the arrest of 2,956 individuals involved in criminal activities and the impounding of 415 vehicles, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and security in the city.
