Moroccan Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali has added another achievement to his impressive record by winning the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Silesia Meet in Poland, which marks the twelfth stage of the Diamond League athletics series.
El Bakkali completed the race in a time of 8 minutes, 4 seconds, and 29 hundredths of a second, outpacing his competitors Kenyan Amos Serem, who finished second, and Ethiopian Samuel Firewu, who came in third place.
It’s worth noting that the Moroccan champion had successfully defended his Olympic title in the 3000-meter steeplechase during the recent Olympic Games in Paris, after having won the gold medal in the same event at the Tokyo Olympics.
With this new accomplishment, Soufiane El Bakkali continues to cement his position as one of the most prominent athletes in the world of track and field, adding another feat to his distinguished sports record.
This victory further underscores El Bakkali’s dominance in his discipline and his consistent performance at the highest levels of international athletics.
