The Moroccan city of Casablanca is gearing up to host the inaugural African E-Sports Championship (AEC24) from August 17 to 21, 2024. This historic event will bring together 180 athletes from 17 African countries, making it a pioneering event in the field of e-sports across the continent.
Organizers announced in a press release that this championship will offer participants the opportunity to qualify for the World E-Sports Championship scheduled to take place in Riyadh in November. This adds significant importance to the event.
The opening ceremony is set to take place on August 16 at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca. The championship will feature a series of competitions across five categories: CS2 Open, CS2 Women, MLBB Open, MLBB Women, and PubG mobile.
