On Saturday, August 4, police forces from the regional security department in Salé successfully apprehended a 20-year-old man suspected of involvement in a break-in robbery targeting a money transfer agency.
Judicial police services, supported by crime scene technicians, had initiated their investigation in mid-July following a daring robbery carried out by two individuals in the “Al-Inbiath” neighborhood of Salé. Intensive research and investigations led to the identification of one of the suspects, who was arrested during a security operation conducted on Saturday.
During a search of the room used by the suspect, police managed to recover part of the clothing worn during the criminal operation. The suspect has been placed in custody pending the judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor’s office.
The ongoing investigations aim to uncover all circumstances, details, and backgrounds of this case, including identifying the second accomplice and recovering the stolen funds.
This operation comes as part of the continuous efforts made by Moroccan security authorities to combat crime and protect public and private property.
The case highlights the effectiveness of forensic techniques and investigative procedures employed by Moroccan law enforcement in solving complex crimes. It also underscores the challenges faced by financial institutions in securing their premises against sophisticated criminal operations.
As the investigation continues, authorities are likely to focus on whether this incident is part of a larger pattern of crimes targeting financial institutions in the region.
