The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, on behalf of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, signed on Tuesday an agreement between the ministry and the unions representing the health sector.
The agreement was signed by the National Health Syndicate of the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CNS), the National Union of Public Health of the Democratic Federation of Labour (FTDL), the Independent Union of Nurses, the National University of Health of the General Confederation of Workers in Morocco (CGTM), the National University of the Health Sector of the National Labour Union (UNOS) and the Democratic Organization of Health of the Democratic Organization of Labour (ODH) in response to the government proposal presented to trade union bodies on July 12, 2024.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, this signing comes within the framework of the implementation of the royal instructions aimed at strengthening social protection and reforming the national health system.
The agreement also aims to reconsider the governance of the health system in all its components, with a focus on supporting health professionals working in territorial health groups and recognizing their efforts in serving citizens.
A number of measures were also agreed upon, including a monthly increase for nurses, administrative and technical doctors, improving the conditions for promotion, creating a new grade for health professionals and conducting internal professional competitions based on the needs of the sector.
The communiqué also emphasized the importance of the role of social dialogue in achieving social peace, noting the government’s commitment to continue discussions to improve the conditions of health professionals, according to its government program 2021-2026.
The communiqué concluded by emphasizing the commitment of all parties to contribute to the reform of the national health system and promote constructive dialogue, in order to achieve the set goals in order to serve the citizens and enhance the future of the health sector.
