In the first operation, which took place in the “Rahma” area of Casablanca, the anti-gang unit apprehended the first suspect, a 30-year-old man, caught in the act of possessing and distributing these dangerous materials. A search of the warehouses he used resulted in the seizure of 172 large boxes containing approximately 370,272 units of fireworks and firecrackers.

The second operation, carried out by the Ain Chock security district in Casablanca, led to the arrest of the second suspect at a traffic checkpoint at the city’s entrance. He was found in possession of 14 boxes containing quantities of smuggled fireworks and firecrackers.

Authorities confirmed that both suspects are currently under judicial investigation, supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to uncover all details and backgrounds of these two cases, as well as to determine the criminal acts attributed to the accused.

These operations come as part of the ongoing efforts by Moroccan security services nationwide to combat the possession and distribution of smuggled fireworks and firecrackers, which pose a serious threat to citizens’ safety and property.
