Rabat – Des médias français ont évoqué l’existence de préparatifs diplomatiques en cours en vue d’une visite attendue de Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI à Paris, qui pourrait avoir lieu entre l’été et l’automne 2026, dans le cadre du renforcement des relations bilatérales entre le Maroc et la France.
Rabat – French media have reported that diplomatic preparations are underway for a potential visit by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Paris, which could take place between the summer and autumn of 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Morocco and France.

Selon le quotidien français Le Monde, Rabat et Paris travaillent actuellement à la préparation de ce rendez-vous diplomatique qui intervient dans un contexte marqué par une amélioration notable des relations entre les deux pays ces derniers mois.
According to the French newspaper Le Monde, Rabat and Paris are currently working on preparations for this diplomatic meeting, which comes amid a noticeable improvement in relations between the two countries in recent months.

Le même rapport indique également que les deux parties étudient la préparation d’un nouveau traité d’amitié entre le Maroc et la France, qui pourrait être le premier accord de ce type signé par Paris avec un pays du Sud. L’élaboration de ce traité serait confiée à un groupe de travail conjoint réunissant plusieurs personnalités des relations franco-marocaines, dont l’ancien ministre français des Affaires étrangères Hubert Védrine et l’ancien ambassadeur du Maroc en France Chakib Benmoussa.
The report also notes that both sides are studying the preparation of a new friendship treaty between Morocco and France, which could become the first agreement of its kind signed by Paris with a country from the Global South. The treaty would be prepared by a joint working group including prominent figures in Franco-Moroccan relations, among them former French Foreign Minister Hubert Védrine and former Moroccan ambassador to France Chakib Benmoussa.

La question d’une visite du Roi Mohammed VI en France avait déjà été évoquée lors de la visite du président français au Maroc en octobre 2024, lorsque Macron avait adressé une invitation officielle au souverain marocain pour effectuer une visite d’État à Paris. Bien qu’une date potentielle à la fin de l’année 2025 ait été évoquée, la visite n’a finalement pas eu lieu à ce moment-là et aucune nouvelle date officielle n’a été annoncée depuis.
The possibility of a visit by King Mohammed VI to France had already been raised during the French president’s visit to Morocco in October 2024, when Macron extended an official invitation to the Moroccan monarch for a state visit to Paris. Although a possible date at the end of 2025 had been mentioned, the visit did not take place at that time and no new official date has yet been announced.
