Washington – Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, stated on Thursday in Washington that King Mohammed VI supports U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts aimed at rebuilding Gaza and called for the launch of a genuine peace process in the Middle East.
Speaking at the opening session of the Peace Council meeting, the minister highlighted that President Trump’s peace initiative for Gaza helped secure a ceasefire, end a tragic war, save lives, and establish a forward-looking and pragmatic approach toward reconstruction.
Bourita added that, under the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, Morocco is committed to supporting the Peace Council’s efforts in Gaza, particularly in the areas of security, healthcare, and the promotion of tolerance and coexistence.
He also stressed the importance of fulfilling the conditions of the second phase of the peace plan to ensure its success, calling for stability in the West Bank and for the involvement of Palestinians, through their legitimate institutions, in the peace process.
According to the minister, stability and reconstruction in Gaza could pave the way for launching a genuine peace process based on the two-state solution.
The Peace Council’s opening meeting was chaired by President Donald Trump, with the participation of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, alongside leaders, heads of government, and foreign ministers from nearly fifty countries.

Washington – Le ministre des Affaires étrangères, de la Coopération africaine et des Marocains résidant à l’étranger, Nasser Bourita, a affirmé jeudi à Washington que Mohammed VI soutient les efforts du président américain Donald Trump visant à la reconstruction de Gaza, et appelle au lancement d’un véritable processus de paix au Moyen-Orient.
Lors de la session inaugurale du Conseil pour la paix, le ministre a souligné que l’initiative du président Trump pour la paix à Gaza a permis d’instaurer un cessez-le-feu, de mettre fin à une guerre tragique, de sauver des vies et d’adopter une approche pragmatique tournée vers l’avenir en matière de reconstruction.
M. Bourita a précisé que, conformément aux Hautes Instructions de Sa Majesté le Roi, en sa qualité de Président du Comité Al-Qods, le Maroc s’engage à soutenir les efforts du Conseil pour la paix à Gaza, notamment dans les domaines de la sécurité, de la santé et de la promotion de la tolérance et du vivre-ensemble.
Il a également insisté sur la nécessité de remplir les conditions de la deuxième phase du plan de paix afin d’en garantir le succès, appelant à la préservation de la stabilité en Cisjordanie et à l’implication des Palestiniens, à travers leurs institutions légitimes, dans ce processus.
Selon le ministre, la stabilité et la reconstruction de Gaza pourraient ouvrir la voie à un véritable processus de paix fondé sur la solution à deux États.
La réunion inaugurale du Conseil pour la paix a été présidée par le président Donald Trump, en présence du vice-président américain J.D. Vance, du secrétaire d’État Marco Rubio, ainsi que de dirigeants et ministres des Affaires étrangères d’environ cinquante pays.
