Rabat — The Moroccan national team continues its preparations for the match against Tanzania, scheduled for next Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in the capital Rabat, kicking off at 5:00 p.m., as part of the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
On Friday, the national squad held a training session considered the penultimate one before match day. The session took place behind closed doors, with the technical staff focusing on tactical aspects and putting the final touches on their choices, in preparation for determining the official line-up and the game plan to be adopted for this decisive encounter.
In this context, national coach Walid Regragui is expected to hold a press conference on Saturday morning, during which he will address the latest developments concerning the national team. This will be followed by the players’ final training session, the first 15 minutes of which will be open to the media, in accordance with the regulations of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, the Moroccan team had already completed two consecutive training sessions. The first, held in the morning, was dedicated to physical preparation and tactical organization, while the second session, scheduled for the evening, focused on technical aspects and strengthening collective cohesion among the players.
The “Atlas Lions” are looking to capitalize on the advantage of playing at home and the support of their fans in order to secure a positive result against Tanzania, which would guarantee qualification to the quarterfinals of the continental competition and allow them to continue their campaign in the tournament hosted by the Kingdom.
