Countdown Underway: Second Reminder Notice from the Interior Ministry on Voter Rolls for the 2026 Professional Chambers Elections

Morocco’s Ministry of the Interior issued a second reminder notice urging professionals who are not yet registered on the electoral rolls of the professional chambers to file their registration requests without delay, stressing that the legal deadline expires on Wednesday, 31 December 2025.

The notice specifies that this concerns eligible workers in sectors falling under the Agricultural Chambers, Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services, Chambers of Handicrafts, and Chambers of Maritime Fisheries. Applicants must meet the legal requirements and be at least 18 full solar years of age, or will reach that age by 31 March 2026, and must submit their application within the set deadline.

The Ministry added that concerned individuals may submit their registration requests for the electoral roll of the chamber they belong to at the offices of the local administrative authority responsible for the place where they carry out their professional activity.

In a related context, the Interior Minister reminded professionals currently registered on the electoral rolls of the professional chambers—who wish to transfer their registration (between professional categories, electoral bodies, electoral constituencies, or from one professional chamber to another)—that they must file transfer requests with the competent local administrative authority offices before the end of December.

Voter Registration in Morocco: Conditions and the Official Platform

Registration on Morocco’s general electoral rolls is considered a fundamental step enabling citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote and participate in various electoral processes, as one of the key pillars of democracy and civic participation.

The competent authorities called on those who are not registered, or who wish to update or correct their electoral information, to take the initiative to register within the legally defined deadlines—either through local administrative offices or via the official digital platform dedicated to this purpose.

Registration concerns Moroccan citizens who are 18 years old by the date the electoral rolls are closed, and who have never been registered before, or who have changed their place of residence and wish to transfer their registration to a new commune or electoral district.

The Ministry of the Interior has provided an online platform that allows concerned citizens to:

  • Apply for first-time registration
  • Check their electoral status
  • Submit a request to correct or transfer registration

This process aims to update the electoral rolls and ensure their credibility and transparency, contributing to the organization of fair elections that reflect voters’ true will and strengthen public trust in elected institutions.

The relevant authorities stress that participation begins with registration, calling in particular on young people to engage positively in public life and not miss the opportunity to contribute to local and national decision-making.
