Multiple consistent sources said that harsh weather conditions in Boulemane Province have led to a temporary توقف of filming for the new Moroccan television series “Hamouchan wa Hallala”, directed by Jamila El Barji Benissa. The suspension comes after nearly two months of production.
The sources explained that the decision was taken due to snowfall and a sharp drop in temperatures at the filming locations, prompting the crew to pause work for one week as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the team, pending improved weather.
Boulemane Province—especially its mountainous areas—is known for strong weather fluctuations during winter. Cold waves and snow can disrupt movement and outdoor activities, which sometimes affects open-air projects, including audiovisual productions.
In recent years, several Moroccan productions have increasingly chosen natural settings outside major cities in search of a distinct visual atmosphere and to bring drama closer to rural and mountainous environments. However, this option remains tied to logistical and technical constraints that are directly impacted by weather conditions.
According to the same information, filming is expected to resume in the coming days once weather conditions stabilize, with the series slated to air as part of the Ramadan 2026 lineup.
Similar pauses or short-term delays have been recorded in previous filming seasons due to natural factors, particularly in remote locations and when using technical equipment that requires specific safety conditions. Production teams therefore typically build time buffers into their schedules to deal with such emergencies.
