The Moroccan Organization for the Rights of Women with Disabilities said it “strongly condemns” what it described as irregularities affecting the voter registration process, warning that these issues could lead to the effective exclusion of people with disabilities—contrary to the principles of equality and equal opportunity, according to its statement.
In a denunciatory communiqué, the organization cited among the main problems a lack of digital accessibility on the online registration platform, alongside reliance on in-person procedures at local offices that require filling out paper forms without providing “reasonable accommodation,” which it says may make registration difficult for some individuals.
The statement added that this situation may push some people with disabilities to seek help from others to complete registration procedures—something the organization considers a violation of independence and confidentiality of personal data—calling for stronger protection of data in line with relevant legal provisions.
According to the same source, the organization argues that improving access to registration requires inclusive measures that enable citizens with disabilities to exercise their constitutional right to register and participate politically on an equal footing, while ensuring privacy and providing the necessary accessibility tools.
Fes News states it remains open to publishing any clarifications or responses from the concerned authorities, in respect of the right of reply and professional ethics.
