Reliable diplomatic sources have revealed intensive efforts currently underway between Rabat and Paris to coordinate the anticipated official visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to France, in a move that reflects the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
According to information published by sources close to French diplomatic circles, both sides are strongly inclined toward setting March 2, 2026 as the date for the visit, which coincides with the seventieth anniversary of the signing of Morocco’s declaration of independence and the end of the French protectorate in 1956. This visit holds prominent symbolic and historical significance, as it comes to crown a series of high-level meetings and visits that Moroccan-French relations have witnessed in recent years, especially after the notable improvement in bilateral dynamics following President Emmanuel Macron’s recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
