Rabat – December 1, 2025
The public oral questions session in the House of Representatives witnessed severe tension today, Monday, between session chairman Rachid Talbi Alami and Justice and Development Party (PJD) MPs, as Talbi Alami directed scathing criticism at opposition MPs, describing them as “Marxists following God and His Prophet’s way,” in a sarcastic reference to their Islamic background.
According to a video circulated on social media, published by journalist Mohamed Ouamoussi via his account on the “X” platform, Talbi Alami appears demanding PJD MPs leave the chamber, saying: “Get out… this is a right… get out of the chamber… you are Marxists following God and His Prophet’s way.” It appears the clash erupted during a heated debate, where MPs were protesting a certain procedure, prompting the session chairman to respond with evident anger, accompanied by hand gestures expressing displeasure and insistence on removing them.
The video, which bears the “Dakhla News” logo, achieved widespread interaction on digital platforms, with comments ranging from support for Talbi Alami to mockery of the MPs, amid mutual accusations. No official comment has yet been issued from the Justice and Development Party or the House presidency regarding the incident, but it reflects ongoing political tensions between the government majority and the Islamic opposition.
It should be noted that today’s session was dedicated to oral questions, followed by a legislative session, according to the official House of Representatives agenda. This clash comes in the context of escalating debates about the budget and government policies, with the PJD accusing the government of ignoring the opposition, while Talbi Alami defends the smooth conduct of sessions.
This incident is the latest in a series of parliamentary tensions, which previously witnessed sharp criticism from PJD leaders such as Abdellah Bouanou toward government procedures. Political circles have called for maintaining respect for parliamentary etiquette to ensure constructive debate serving citizens’ interests.
