In an elegant cultural setting, the city of Brooklyn, New York, hosted on the evening of Saturday, January 11, 2025, a signing and launch event for a new poetry collection titled “Memory of Aches” by Moroccan poet Fatima Zahra Tsouli.
The event took place at Widdi Hall, located at 5602 6th Avenue, with the attendance of a select group of enthusiasts of Arabic poetry and migrant literature, as well as admirers of free expression and literary creativity.
This new work marks a significant milestone in Fatima Zahra Tsouli’s poetic journey, blending human sensitivity and philosophical depth as she explores themes of pain, longing, and memory. The collection’s cover art visually harmonizes with its theme, depicting an expressive brain intersected by the roots of human memory, embodying the meaning of the title.
Organizers welcomed attendees with an opening speech featuring the phrase “Welcome – مرحبًا,” emphasizing the event’s goal of strengthening cultural dialogue among Arab diaspora communities and encouraging female creativity.
The ceremony began at 4 PM and included poetry readings from the collection as well as critical discussions on its themes and human dimensions.
