Finance Law 2026: The Government Council approves the bill and delegates Nadia Fattah to manage borrowings

Following the conclusion of the Council of Ministers chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI last Sunday, Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government, presided over a government council meeting dedicated to discussing and approving the 2026 Finance Bill and its accompanying texts.

A statement from the Ministry Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, the government’s official spokesperson, indicated that the council began its work by debating and approving Finance Bill No. 50.25 for the fiscal year 2026, presented by Mrs. Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance.

Subsequently, the government council discussed and ratified several decrees associated with the Finance Bill, including Draft Decree No. 2.25.851 delegating authority to the Minister of Economy and Finance regarding domestic borrowing and the use of other financial instruments.

The council also approved Decree No. 2.25.852 granting the same authority regarding external financing, as well as Draft Decree No. 2.25.853 delegating authority to conclude borrowing contracts aimed at repaying the external debt and agreements to hedge interest rate and exchange rate risks.
