Video shakes Safi: A former official is accused of asking for a bribe to complete a road

The Ministry of Interior announced, in an official statement obtained by Teleexpress on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the opening of a judicial investigation following allegations made by a member of the “Lemsabah” community in the province of Safi. The allegations, circulated on social media via a video clip, accuse the former provincial governor of soliciting a bribe in exchange for the completion of a road within the community.

The statement explained that the Ministry promptly responded to these claims by tasking the General Inspectorate of Territorial Administration with conducting a comprehensive administrative investigation, during which all relevant information and clarifications were gathered.

The results of this investigation led to the preparation of a detailed report that was forwarded to the competent central authorities to take the necessary actions.

Consequently, the authorities decided to refer the case to the public prosecutor to initiate a judicial inquiry and impose legal sanctions if any violations are confirmed.

The Ministry emphasized that this procedure reflects the strict approach taken by public authorities in addressing any suspicions of corruption or breaches of integrity in public administration, whether involving officials or elected representatives. It reaffirmed its full commitment to transparency and accountability in local governance to strengthen trust between citizens and the administration.
