The police department of Tangier successfully arrested two suspects this morning, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, on charges of theft involving impersonation of police officers.
Investigations revealed that the suspects claimed to be police officers and stopped a victim under the pretext of conducting an identity verification process, which they exploited to steal his belongings. Thanks to intensive investigations, they were apprehended shortly after committing the crime.
During the search, police found a wireless device and two metallic badges suspected to bear visual features similar to those used by law enforcement forces, confirming their systematic impersonation.
The suspects were placed under judicial custody pending investigations supervised by the competent public prosecutor to uncover all circumstances and details surrounding the case.
