Regional Branch of the Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Publishers Holds Meeting to Discuss Economic and Organizational Issues

The executive office of the regional branch of the Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Publishers in the Fes-Meknes region held its first meeting on Saturday, October 4, at the new headquarters of federation member Mr. Mohcine El Hassouni, editor-in-chief of the site “Al-Asima” in Fes. The meeting focused on discussing the economic situation of the press companies in the region as well as the organizational status of the branch.

During the meeting, President Youssef Souhi presented a detailed report on the latest federal office meeting held in Casablanca, reviewing all updates related to the two legislative texts approved by the government and forwarded to both chambers of the Moroccan Parliament.

Regarding the economic conditions of the press companies in the Fes-Meknes region, the office members reiterated their call to all stakeholders, elected bodies, and economic actors in the region to expedite the implementation of previous promises aimed at rescuing these vital companies from their fragile condition that has persisted for years. They emphasized the urgent need to address the accumulation of social contribution debts owed to the National Social Security Fund, while noting the ongoing absence of political will to find a definitive solution guaranteeing the survival of these patriotic and community-oriented press establishments.

It is worth noting that the election of the branch president and the executive members took place last July.
