Kenitra – A statement from the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Kenitra confirmed that following the public order disturbances that occurred in the Sidi Taibi area of Kenitra Province on the night of last Wednesday, which involved acts of theft, violence, destruction of public and private property, and arson, seventeen detainees were presented today, Saturday, before the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Kenitra.
The statement clarified that the detainees included eight adults who were held under judicial custody and nine juveniles detained at the Royal Gendarmerie Judicial Center in Kenitra.
It added that a request for investigation was submitted against four adult detainees suspected of committing criminal acts, while another investigation request was directed at seven juveniles based on the criminal acts they are accused of.
Additionally, six detainees were referred to the public prosecutor at the Kenitra Primary Court, which has jurisdiction over their cases, including four adults and two juveniles.
The statement concluded that, following the public prosecutor’s request, all the accused have been remanded in custody pending the completion of detailed investigations, and that investigations continue to apprehend other individuals involved in these incidents and bring them to justice.
