Five individuals, including four from the same family, died of suffocation inside a sanitation pit while carrying out cleaning work in Douar Al-Nawasir, Sidi Bouzid commune, in the Chichaoua Province, on Wednesday morning.
Upon notification, local and security authorities, along with civil protection teams, promptly arrived at the scene, where they recovered the victims’ bodies and transferred them to the regional hospital in Chichaoua.
The Royal Gendarmerie launched an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution to determine all circumstances and details surrounding this tragic incident.
