A double-barreled treason case: The wife was acquitted after the husband’s withdrawal, and an alternative penalty by signature was imposed on the accomplice in Sidi Kacem

In a controversial case in the city of Sidi Kacem, a husband caught his wife in the act of infidelity. He filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor, leading to the wife and her partner being prosecuted for adultery while in custody.

However, the husband withdrew the complaint, which resulted in the Sidi Kacem court ruling on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to dismiss the case against the wife based on this withdrawal and ordered her release.

As for the wife’s partner, his defense requested an alternative sentence instead of imprisonment. The court accepted the request and sentenced him to report to the Royal Gendarmerie every Monday and Friday for six months as an alternative to serving a two-month prison sentence.
