Monarch Expresses Profound Sympathy to Family and Followers of Late Religious Leader
RABAT – His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a telegram of condolence and sympathy to the family of the late His Eminence Sheikh Jamal Eddine Al-Qadiri Boudchich, spiritual leader of the Al-Qadiri Boudchichi Sufi Order, who recently passed away.
The royal message, issued on Monday, August 9, 2025, stated:
“We have received with profound sorrow and deep sadness the news of the passing of the late Sheikh Jamal Eddine Al-Qadiri Boudchich—may Allah cover him with His forgiveness and pleasure—leader of the Al-Qadiri Boudchichi Sufi Order. May Allah accept him among His righteous servants, blessed with forgiveness and divine pleasure.”
His Majesty added:
“Following this painful event, we express to all members of your esteemed family, and to all lovers of the late blessed sheikh, his devoted followers, and disciples of the Al-Qadiri Boudchichi Sufi Order—both within Morocco and abroad—our heartfelt condolences and sincerest sympathies in this immense tragedy, from which none can avert Allah’s decree. We pray to Almighty Allah to inspire you all with beautiful patience and fortitude.”
Royal Tribute to the Late Sheikh’s Legacy
The King solemnly recalled the deceased’s virtues:
“We reverently recall the noble qualities embodied by this great sheikh—qualities of the righteous believers and pious imams. He dedicated his life to serving our tolerant Islamic faith, spreading its moderate teachings based on balance and moderation, and entrenching its Sunni Sufi spiritual values. He urged the refinement of souls and cultivation of noble morals, seeking Allah’s pleasure and love for His Noble Prophet and the pure Holy Family.”
His Majesty highlighted the sheikh’s unwavering loyalty:
“He maintained a profound attachment to the glorious Alaouite Throne, perpetual devotion to the nation’s constants, and steadfast loyalty to the sacred allegiance and the Command of the Faithful—an august trust we bear.”
Royal Prayer for Divine Mercy
Concluding the message, the King prayed:
“As we share your grief in this devastating loss, we beseech Allah Almighty to reward him most generously for his noble deeds toward his homeland and religion, and for the righteous acts he offered before his Lord. May He shower His mercy upon his pure soul, grant him spacious gardens of Paradise, and place him among the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous—how excellent a company!”
