His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, chaired today, Wednesday, at the square of M’diq-Fnideq Prefecture in the city of M’diq, an official reception in celebration of the 26th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his illustrious ancestors. He was accompanied on this joyful occasion by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.
The ceremony commenced with the flag salute to the tunes of the national anthem, followed by a 21-gun salute, expressing pride in this precious national anniversary.
A number of senior Moroccan dignitaries advanced to greet His Majesty King and congratulate him on this happy occasion, including Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government; Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the House of Representatives; and Mr. Mohammed Ould Rachid, President of the House of Councillors.
Also present were several high-ranking judicial officials, such as Mr. Mohamed Abdennabaoui, Delegate President of the Supreme Council of Judicial Authority and First President of the Court of Cassation; Mr. Hicham Blalou, Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation; and Mr. Mohamed Amin Benabdellah, President of the Constitutional Court.
The reception also included Ms. Zineb El Adoui, President of the Supreme Court of Auditors, and Mr. Abdelkader Amara, President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, alongside the Secretary-General of the Supreme Scientific Council and heads of important national bodies such as the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication, the Competition Council, and the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and Fight against Corruption.
Among the attendees were the Mediator of the Kingdom, the Presidents of councils responsible for Moroccan expatriates’ affairs and Saharan affairs, as well as the Wali of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Governor of Tanger-Assilah Prefecture, and the President of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council.
The event was further honored by a distinguished presence of senior military and security leaders, including the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, directors of security agencies, and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance.
Also in attendance were accredited diplomats in Rabat, including deans of the African, Arab, European, American, and Asian diplomatic corps, in addition to representatives of Christian and Jewish religious communities.
In a special sporting moment, His Majesty warmly welcomed the President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Mr. Gianni Infantino; the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa; and members of the Moroccan women’s national football team, who achieved remarkable success during the 2024 Africa Women Cup of Nations. His Majesty, accompanied by the Crown Prince and Prince Moulay Rachid, posed for a commemorative photo with them at the conclusion of the ceremony.
This annual celebration represents an exceptional occasion for the Moroccan people and all components of the nation to renew their allegiance and profound pride and loyalty to His Majesty the King, affirming steadfast commitment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne and reinforcing the spirit of national unity and the bond between the throne and the people throughout the Kingdom, from Ceuta and Melilla to Lagouira.
