On Tuesday, Bank Al-Maghrib issued a new commemorative coin with a face value of 250 dirhams, marking the 26th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne—an initiative that symbolically reflects the national monetary institution’s celebration of this significant occasion in the contemporary history of the Kingdom.
The coin’s obverse features a distinguished image of King Mohammed VI, surrounded by the inscriptions “Mohammed VI” and “Kingdom of Morocco” in both Arabic and Tifinagh scripts, along with the year of issuance: 2025 (1447 Hijri).
On its reverse, the coin is adorned with an artistic depiction of the Hassan Tower, accompanied by the national emblem and the coin’s face value “two hundred and fifty dirhams” written in both numbers and words. It also bears the inscription “26th Anniversary of the Throne Day,” translated into French.
This commemorative coin stands as a tangible national tribute, renewing the celebration of King Mohammed VI’s accession and reflecting a sense of pride and belonging to the royal and Moroccan legacy.
