Tragic Incident in Moulay Rachid: Teacher Takes His Own Life After Being Informed of Suspension

The Moulay Rachid district was shaken by a heartbreaking incident in which a young teacher, in his first year of service, tragically took his own life under distressing circumstances.

The teacher, M. B was employed this season at Badr School in the district and was assigned to teach at three different institutions: Badr School, Al-Nasr School, and Tariq ibn Ziyad School. This meant dealing with three administrations, three communities, and three different environments, placing significant psychological and physical pressure on him without consideration for these challenges.

Last Tuesday, Moaz was suspended from work. Yesterday, when he went to sign his exit report, the school principal officially informed him of his suspension, despite the fact that he had undergone training at the pioneering school. The suspension came after he was accused of violence during a vulnerable moment, without being heard or given a proper investigation. A temporary administrative measure, such as signing an exit report with a later hearing to verify the facts, could have been taken instead of the immediate shock of suspension.

This sudden exclusion and premature condemnation, without support or fair inquiry, left Moaz feeling marginalized and wronged, which ultimately led him to take the tragic decision to end his life.

May God have mercy on Moaz, forgive him, and grant him eternal peace, and may He grant patience and solace to his family, relatives, and colleagues. This incident painfully highlights the urgent need to reconsider how educational staff are treated, especially under psychological and administrative pressure, ensuring they receive support and protection rather than exclusion and condemnation without due process.
