Government Council to Convene Next Thursday under the Chairmanship of Aziz Akhannouch

Rabat, June 30, 2025 (MAP) – The Government Council is scheduled to hold a session next Thursday, chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government.

According to a statement issued by the Government Presidency, the Council will begin its work by examining two draft laws: the first concerning the reorganization of the National Press Council, and the second amending and supplementing the law related to the statutory framework of professional journalists.

The Council will then continue its work by reviewing a draft decree that sets the maximum amount for microloans and the ceilings on funds provided by microfinance institutions. Following this, it will study the Host Country Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD) regarding the establishment of the national office of this agency in Morocco. This agreement was signed in Rabat on January 16, 2025. A draft law approving this agreement will also be presented to the Council.

The Council will conclude its session by examining proposals for appointments to senior positions in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.
