Security forces from the Regional Police Directorate in Al Hoceima, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested three individuals aged between 23 and 42 years old on the evening of Wednesday, June 25. Two of the suspects have prior criminal records. They are suspected of being linked to a criminal network involved in organizing illegal migration and human trafficking.
The main suspect was apprehended in Al Hoceima while actively organizing an illegal migration operation involving eight candidates for clandestine migration. Subsequently, two other individuals suspected of participating in this criminal activity were also arrested.
During the search and seizure operation, authorities confiscated an inflatable boat, a traditional fishing boat equipped with a marine engine, various navigation equipment, and a sum of money believed to be proceeds from these criminal acts.
The three suspects have been placed under police custody, while the migration candidates are undergoing judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case and identify any potential extensions of this criminal network.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by Moroccan security agencies to combat illegal migration and related crimes, safeguarding national borders from activities that threaten security and stability.
