The Museums Night Returns for Its 4th Edition under the Theme: “Moroccan Youth – The Trusted Guardians of Tomorrow’s Heritage”

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, the National Museums Foundation will host the fourth edition of the “Night of Museums and Cultural Spaces” under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This year’s theme honors Moroccan youth as the “trusted guardians of tomorrow’s heritage.”

Free Access for Youth and the Public

According to an official statement from the Foundation, all museums and art galleries across the country will open their doors for free from 5 PM to midnight. The initiative particularly focuses on encouraging young people to connect deeply with their artistic and cultural heritage.

Strategic Partnerships Linking Culture, Education, and Youth

This event reflects collaborative efforts involving the Ministries of Youth, Culture and Communication, National Education, Higher Education, and the Majorelle Garden Foundation. It underscores a collective commitment to strengthening the role of culture within educational and academic paths.

Two key agreements will be signed during the event:

  • With the Ministry of National Education to expand free educational visits to museums.
  • With the Ministry of Higher Education to facilitate access for students, professors, and researchers to museums and to promote scientific research on heritage.

Official Opening and Rich Artistic Evenings

Festivities will officially begin at the National Jewelry Museum located in the Oudayas district with a special exhibition dedicated to the Moroccan Caftan. The evening will continue at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, showcasing the permanent exhibition “Moving Horizons – One Hundred Years of Artistic Research in Morocco (1920-2020),” featuring over 200 Moroccan artworks displayed with immersive scenography.

Diverse Activities Across Museums Nationwide

Museums and cultural spaces throughout Morocco will host exhibitions, workshops, artistic and documentary performances, and interactive activities. Free Wi-Fi services will be available to enhance visitor experiences.

A Call to Revive the Bond Between Youth and Heritage

The National Museums Foundation concluded that this night serves as a symbolic moment to encourage Moroccan youth to engage actively with their cultural legacy, transforming museums into vibrant spaces for creativity, belonging, and collective pride.
