Moroccan Government to Discuss Important Draft Laws and Decrees in Thursday’s Weekly Meeting

The Moroccan government is scheduled to hold its weekly meeting on Thursday, 15 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH, corresponding to June 12, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Head of Government. The agenda includes the examination of several draft laws, decrees, and agreements concerning strategic sectors in the country.

Draft Laws on the Agenda

The Government Council will review Draft Law No. 20.25, which aims to ratify Decree-Law No. 2.25.302 issued on 5 Shawwal 1446 (April 4, 2025), related to the service units of the National Water and Data Agency. This draft will be presented by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests.

Also on the agenda is Draft Law No. 23.25, which concerns ratifying Decree-Law No. 2.25.168 issued on 27 Ramadan 1446 (May 6, 2025), regarding the establishment of unified regional centers for migrant services. This draft will be presented by the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Coordination, and Policy Evaluation.

Draft Decrees for Discussion

The Council will study Draft Decree No. 2.25.430, which defines the procedures for appointing engineers, administrators, and assistant engineers working at the Ministry of Justice. This will be presented by the Minister of Justice.

Additionally, Draft Decree No. 2.25.456, which amends and supplements Decree No. 2.04.89 dated 18 Rabi’ al-Thani 1425 (June 7, 2004), concerning the competencies of university institutions and certification of postgraduate studies and national equivalent diplomas, will be reviewed. The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation will present this draft.

Additional Agreements and Draft Laws

The Council will also discuss an agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Republic of Chad, signed in Rabat on August 6, 2024.

Draft Law No. 02.25, approving this agreement, will be presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.

Senior Appointments

The meeting will conclude with deliberations on proposals for senior appointments in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
