Free Parking at Ain Diab Beach Following Removal of “Yellow Vests” Collectors

A recent decision was made to eliminate parking fees at Ain Diab Beach in Casablanca after authorities removed individuals known as the “yellow vests,” who were illegally charging beachgoers for parking.

A video published by Hespress on YouTube highlighted the opinions of several citizens expressing relief over the decision. They confirmed that the fees imposed by some of these individuals were high and unjustified, with some demanding up to 10 dirhams per parking spot, which caused frustration among visitors and local residents.

Speakers noted that this phenomenon hindered the enjoyment of the beach and projected a negative image of the city to tourists and visitors. They called on the relevant authorities to establish clear legal frameworks to regulate parking and educate everyone about their rights and responsibilities.

Some citizens also urged the implementation of awareness campaigns and social media announcements to clarify the official parking rates and prevent exploitation or extortion by certain individuals.

This move is part of local authorities’ efforts to improve services for visitors and enhance security and order in tourist areas, especially with the upcoming summer season and the expected increase in visitors.
