Fines for violations of Morocco’s national ID law Up to 400 dirhams

According to 2M TV, the National Electronic Identification Card Law in Morocco imposes fines for a number of violations related to the use of this official document, which may reach 400 dirhams in some cases.

This comes within the framework of the implementation of Law No. 04.20, which defines the legal and organizational framework for the national electronic identification card.

According to the channel, fines are imposed in the following cases:

Between 300 and 400 dirhams: A fine imposed on any person aged 16 years or older who fails to apply for a national ID card within the legal deadline.

Dh200 fine: A fine of 200 dirhams is imposed on anyone who fails to renew the card when it expires or when any personal data needs to be updated, in accordance with the requirements of Article 15 of the law.

Between 100 and 150 dirhams: A fine imposed on those who hold a national ID card and fail to present it to judicial police officers upon request, as stipulated in Article 16 of the same law.

These fines are part of measures aimed at ensuring respect for the legal obligations related to national identity and achieving accurate monitoring of changes that may occur in citizens’ data.
