Nice: Princess Lalla Hasnaa and French President Co-Chair the “Africa for the Ocean” Summit

Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI, alongside His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, co-chaired today’s “Africa for the Ocean” summit held at the Palace of the Kings of Sardinia in Nice.

At the opening of the summit, which saw the participation of several heads of state and government as well as high-level representatives from international organizations, Princess Lalla Hasnaa delivered the royal message from His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the attendees of this important event.

The “Africa for the Ocean” summit, organized within the framework of the United Nations Third Ocean Conference (Nice 2025), provides a key platform to exchange visions on the prospects for development in the African continent through the sustainable valorization of marine resources, emphasizing responsible governance of maritime domains.

Among the main themes addressed at the summit are mobilizing funding to establish resilient and modern infrastructure, ocean governance, fisheries management, and strengthening connectivity between coastal and landlocked countries.

The summit is expected to result in the formulation of strategic partnerships in the field of oceans, offering innovative solutions aligned with regional challenges and supporting sustainable development across Africa.
