A senior police inspector with the Fez Police Department was forced to use his service weapon on the evening of Sunday, June 8, to neutralize an imminent threat posed by a repeat offender subject to an active arrest warrant for crimes against individuals.
According to available information, a public security patrol intervened to arrest the suspect, who was involved in the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages and in assault and battery using a bladed weapon. However, the suspect refused to comply and violently resisted the officers with a knife and glass bottles, posing a serious threat to their safety.
Faced with this situation, the police inspector fired a warning shot, which resulted in the suspect being wounded in the lower limbs, allowing officers to bring him under control.
The suspect was transported to the hospital, where he remains under medical supervision pending the completion of a judicial investigation ordered by the competent public prosecutor. Authorities aim to uncover all the circumstances surrounding the case and determine the full extent of the suspect’s criminal actions.
