Police officers from the Bernoussi district in Casablanca successfully arrested three young men late Sunday, June 8, on suspicion of engaging in street violence and causing property damage during incidents linked to sports-related riots.
According to preliminary investigation data, police patrols caught the suspects in the act of fighting and assaulting each other in a residential neighborhood, alongside other participants who are still being sought. The incident resulted in material damage to four privately-owned vehicles parked on the street.
Initial findings indicate that the violent acts were driven by score-settling between members of rival ultras factions supporting a local football team, following previous disputes related to sports hooliganism.
The suspects have been placed under police custody pending a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor, with the aim of clarifying all circumstances surrounding the case and identifying any additional individuals involved.
