The Moroccan national football team is putting the final touches on its preparations today, Sunday, ahead of its match against Benin, scheduled for Monday, June 9, 2025, at 9:00 PM at the Fez Sports Complex. This friendly match is part of the Atlas Lions’ preparations for key upcoming competitions, most notably the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The team will hold its final training session this evening at the match venue to get accustomed to the pitch. Head coach Walid Regragui will use this session to apply final tactical adjustments and finalize the starting lineup for Monday’s game. Some changes are expected compared to the lineup that faced Tunisia last Friday.
In parallel, Regragui has scheduled an open training session for the media this evening, where journalists will be allowed to attend the first 15 minutes of practice, starting at 7:15 PM, at the Fez Sports Complex.
The Moroccan team is coming off a valuable 2-0 victory over Tunisia in a friendly match played last Friday at the same venue. The match was part of their preparation program for the upcoming official competitions, particularly the 2026 World Cup qualifiers (USA, Canada, Mexico) and the 2025 AFCON, which Morocco will host.
The Atlas Lions aim to maintain their positive momentum and continue building team cohesion through the match against Benin, which serves as another valuable test in their preparation journey toward the major challenges ahead.
