Marhaba 2025 Operation to Feature 520 Weekly Ferry Trips to Meet Summer Travel Demand

Mustapha Baitas, Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, announced that the special maritime passenger transport service between Morocco and Southern Europe within the framework of the “Marhaba 2025” operation will be reinforced with 520 weekly ferry trips to accommodate the expected travel flows during the summer period.

Speaking after the government council meeting, the minister highlighted that the capacity of the special maritime transport offer has been increased to 500,000 passengers and 130,000 vehicles per week as part of the operation organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Baitas noted the mobilization of 29 ships belonging to seven maritime companies to provide 12 weekly crossings between Moroccan ports and ports in Italy, France, and Spain, aiming to ensure smooth transit.

He also emphasized efforts to guarantee the operation’s success by enhancing security measures through reinforced border control equipment, as well as providing close support via 24 reception centers—18 within Morocco and 6 abroad. Specialized medical teams have also been deployed along the routes and rest areas to offer necessary health services to travelers.

Furthermore, consular services will be fully mobilized on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from June 15 to September 15, to meet citizens’ needs and provide essential assistance throughout the operation period.
