The operations carried out by the General Directorate of National Security to combat various forms of cheating during the regional and national baccalaureate exams for the 2024-2025 academic year, held between May 26-27 and May 29-June 2, 2025, resulted in the arrest of 118 individuals nationwide. Among those arrested were 16 women and 12 minors suspected of involvement in cheating-related offenses and participation.
Some of these operations were conducted in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance. The security forces apprehended suspects caught in possession and distribution of wireless communication devices intended for cheating during the exams, as well as involvement in cheating acts and leaking and publishing national exam questions on social media platforms.
The inspections and seizures carried out in these cases led to the confiscation of various electronic equipment used to facilitate cheating, including 98 mobile phones, 87 miniature earpieces, 641 batteries, seven computers, and 28 internet connection devices.
These intensive security operations reflect the General Directorate of National Security’s commitment to enforcing legal and regulatory measures to combat cheating, while contributing to creating appropriate conditions for the smooth and fair conduct of the regional and national unified baccalaureate exams.
