Funeral of Abdelhak Lamrini Held in the Presence of Prince Moulay Rachid

Rabat, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 – The funeral of the late Abdelhak Lamrini, the Kingdom’s historiographer and spokesperson of the Royal Palace, took place on Tuesday at the Achouhada Cemetery in Rabat, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.

Following the Asr and funeral prayers at the Achouhada Mosque, the funeral procession proceeded to the cemetery for burial. The ceremony was attended by members of the deceased’s family and close relatives, royal advisors, as well as numerous prominent civil and military figures.

During the burial ceremony, verses from the Holy Quran were recited, and prayers were raised for the soul of the late Abdelhak Lamrini, asking God Almighty to grant him mercy and a place in His vast paradise. Prayers were also offered for the long life of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, and for the protection of the Royal Family, including His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolence to the family of the late Abdelhak Lamrini, expressing his deep sympathy. The Sovereign praised the memory of a major intellectual and cultural figure, a loyal servant of the country whose works and publications enriched the national library. The King emphasized “his profound intellectual stature, passion for knowledge, devotion to the homeland, and unwavering attachment to the nation’s constants and the Glorious Alaouite Throne.”
