Tuberculosis Awareness Campaign: Moulay Yacoub Launches Awareness Series to Combat This Disease

As part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for awareness and sensitization for early detection of tuberculosis, the delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for Moulay Yacoub Province, in partnership with the Moroccan League for Combating Tuberculosis, organized the first awareness session for a group of citizens about prevention and early detection of tuberculosis with the aim of eliminating it by 2030.

A significant number of residents from Oulad Bou Salah, including contacts, influencers, and targeted groups, benefited from the awareness session. This important health awareness and sensitization activity took place under good conditions and witnessed great response and interest from attendees, as well as significant understanding of the seriousness of tuberculosis and the importance of prevention and early detection.

This campaign also aims to raise awareness among partners and stakeholders and communicate with them to work hand in hand to stop the spread of this disease by contributing and striving to improve social and environmental conditions to reduce vulnerability and poverty, considering that they are among the main and direct causes of tuberculosis infection among an important segment of citizens.

Finally, the ambitious provincial plan for this year for the Health and Social Protection Delegation in Moulay Yacoub, under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in the Fez-Meknes region, and with the efforts, commitment, and readiness of all health staff in the province, in partnership and cooperation with the Moroccan League for Combating Tuberculosis, ambitious goals have been set based on improving the success rate of treating infected individuals and protecting uninfected ones with the aim of reducing infection rates and limiting tuberculosis disease.
