Fez, Morocco – In a move reflecting growing interest in the digital transformation of the education system, the University Solidarity headquarters in Fez today hosted the signing ceremony for the peer-reviewed collective book “Digital Education in Light of Quality Requirements.” The event was attended by an elite group of academics, researchers, and professionals interested in education and training, creating an interactive scientific atmosphere that stimulated a deep discussion on the importance of digitalization and the challenges it poses to educational quality, equity, and equal opportunities.
Digital Education: A Strategic Imperative for the Moroccan School System
The ceremony began with an introductory and moderating speech by Dr. Tariq Al-Qutaybi, who highlighted “the increasing importance of digital education in the national education sector,” considering it “a strategic necessity to qualify the Moroccan school system and keep pace with global transformations in the fields of learning and training.” Al-Qutaybi affirmed that digital education “is no longer a luxury or an alternative option; rather, it has become an essential component to ensure continuity of learning and provide flexible and accessible pedagogical content for all learners,” calling for “redoubled efforts to upgrade digital infrastructure and enhance continuous training for educational staff.”
A Scientific Project Enriching Public Discourse on Educational Digitalization
This was followed by an intervention from Dr. Al-Meskiny Ihsan, the General Supervisor of this scientific project, who welcomed the attendees and expressed “his pride in this academic achievement, which is the fruit of a collective effort bringing together an elite group of Moroccan researchers.” Al-Meskiny explained that “the choice of digital education as a topic stems from the need for critical reflection on the reality of educational digitalization in Morocco, and from the desire to contribute to enriching public discourse on education in the post-pandemic context.” He also stressed that the studies included in the book “are based on precise scientific foundations and offer practical, implementable proposals.”
Conditions for Successful Digital Transition and Practical Solutions
In the same context, Dr. Mohammed Fouad Ammor took the floor as the author of the book’s introduction. He praised the content of the work and emphasized “the necessity of having the structural and technical conditions for the success of digital transition within educational institutions, with a focus on the importance of digital justice among different groups and regions.” Ammor affirmed that the book’s contents “addressed fundamental issues related to the difficulties and constraints hindering the effective implementation of digital education in the Moroccan context, proposing a set of solutions that combine strategic vision and field-level measures.”
Dr. Noureddine Trisi also participated with a speech in which he expressed “the importance of this collective work in enhancing the national educational wealth,” considering that its timing of release is “very appropriate given the official directions towards educational digitalization.” Trisi affirmed that this book “is expected to serve as a reference for researchers and decision-makers, and a catalyst for collective thinking on how to make digitalization a tool for achieving quality and equal opportunities within the educational system.”
The ceremony witnessed positive interaction from the attendees, with discussions exchanged on the inputs and outputs of digital education and the prospects for developing this major national project. The event concluded with the signing and distribution of copies of the book to participants, amidst a sophisticated scientific and cultural atmosphere reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the education sector in Morocco.
