On May 16, 2025, Morocco commemorated the 69th anniversary of the establishment of the General Directorate of National Security, in a remarkable national atmosphere that reflected the deep connection between the security institution and the citizens. The event marked an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the men and women of the police in establishing values of stability and protecting rights and freedoms.
The celebration included official events across several Moroccan cities, with the highlight being El Jadida, which turned into a national center of radiance by hosting the Open Doors activities, which continued from May 17 to 21 at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center. The event was held under the slogan: “Proud to Serve an Ancient Nation and a Glorious Throne.”
The activities saw a large turnout of visitors, particularly students and pupils, who came to closely explore the modern techniques and advanced equipment used by various national security departments in performing their duties. From forensic police teams to rapid intervention units, as well as special forces and modern digital tools, visitors had the chance to see it all in action.
This annual initiative is part of an ongoing effort to promote openness and strengthen the trust between the police and society. The event aims to bring the security institution closer to citizens, educate them about its various roles, and raise awareness about security, prevention, and the risks of crime in all its forms.
Through these communicative events, the General Directorate of National Security continues to reinforce the concept of “Community Policing,” which is no longer just a slogan but a daily practice supported by transparency, professionalism, and continuous modernization. This has made the Open Doors event an annual milestone that keeps pace with the evolution of the security institution, reflecting a modern image of the Moroccan police both domestically and internationally.
