Fes Experiences Tourism Boom in Preparation for Global Events: Investors Launch Ambitious Infrastructure Development Projects

Fes – As part of ongoing preparations for Morocco to host a number of global sporting events, a prominent tourism investor in the city of Fes announced the completion of a renovation and development project for a historic guesthouse in Oued Zzhour. This move aims to enhance the tourism appeal of the ancient city.

The tourism investor and owner of the guesthouse “Riad Palais Al Hamra” confirmed that the project is part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade the city’s tourism infrastructure, in preparation for hosting several events for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup. In an exclusive statement, he said: “We have updated Riad Palais Al Hamra to be a model of authentic Moroccan hospitality that meets the requirements of modern tourism”.

The investor clarified that the project has obtained all necessary legal licenses and official approvals. He pointed out that the goal is to provide a unique accommodation experience befitting Fes’s reputation as a capital of culture and Islamic heritage. He added: “Through this project, we seek to combine authentic Moroccan originality with global hospitality standards”.

The investor called on all businessmen and economic actors to engage in this development dynamic, emphasizing the importance of coordination with official bodies to face the challenges hindering tourism development. He warned against “certain practices that obstruct development efforts and deter investors,” calling for concerted efforts to protect tourism investments.

It is worth noting that the city of Fes is currently witnessing an unprecedented development movement, including the rehabilitation of traditional hotels (riads) and the restoration of historical landmarks. This comes within the framework of preparations to receive the expected influx of visitors during the upcoming international sporting events. These efforts aim to strengthen the city’s position as one of the most important cultural tourism destinations worldwide.
